Sure it can do that. It works with other pedals and sound generators just like a regular pedal would.
ashbass reply:
I really can't say as I've never had a memory man to work on. If you are getting a good deal then if it doesn't work you can sell it and break even.
ashbass reply:
I copied the logos out of the pdf manuals for the pedals. Then I pasted them into PowerPoint and adjusted size to taste. Then I printed them out on water decal paper. Then put the logos on the pedals and lastly put several coats of polyurethane over the logos.

I think that it would be easier to use a latching switch to toggle between Scroll and Patch and then add a momentary switch that is wired to the Tap connections inside the pedal to do Tap Tempo. I've made some boxes that use an LED to show which mode the switch is in. Many users have done it this way. See the mod examples page to see how others have implemented this plan.

I'm sure that you can't get them from ZOOM but you might be able to fix yours. The first G3 I had I wore one of the wires of the ribbon in half by moving the ribbon back and forth too much. I very carefully cut away the plastic around the break and soldered a small wire to both sides. That worked.
The ribbons in the zoom pedals are not soldered to the boards anywhere. They are either pushed into a slot or held in a slot by a small plastic bar that is part of the slot it goes into. The ribbons are not special to Zoom and if you can find a ribbon with the same number of wires in it you can use it to replace the faulty one in your pedal.

Yeah, it's funny really that Zoom implemented my workaround for their previous lousy switching systems in their new G5n pedal. Many have bought the new pedal but I won't be joining that party. I think the G5n is pretty lame and is a huge step backward from the G5 feature and models -wise.
That is a great idea if I read you correctly. So for the G5 there would be an external pedal that holds 9 switches, one switch for each available effect module. The G3 pedals would have 6 switches, one for each of its effect modules. Well, I know that I can't make that and I don't believe that it is even possible. There are several people who have successfully accessed features of the G pedals with MIDI. I don't recall seeing what you describe though.
